When I founded DEGUSTRA Ltd. in September 2002 I knew what I would get into: being an elder businessman, offering services with a highly specialized team on a commercially, geographically und politicly difficult field.

Having been WESOTRA's managing director for railway transportation for 25 years, I managed to build railroad-based cargo traffic with the states of the former Soviet block on a regular basis from scratch, while I had to overcome numerous obstacles and institutional drag-and the Iron Curtain also. So, after a successful business life-one could say-I might have retired with clear conscience.

But-that transportation virus wouldn't let me go: Experience, know-how and a bunch of good old friends prompted me to jump in the driver's cab once more. It's on again: DEGUSTRA's heading East - under full steam.

A decision I didn't regret for a single minute.
